soAgent Installation Guide

Overview

The soAgent installer is a Windows application that enables secure remote access to Windows servers through the Securitaas platform. This guide will help you through the installation process.

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or later
  • Administrator privileges on your computer
  • Internet connectivity
  • At least 100MB of free disk space

Pre-Installation Steps

  1. Right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator"
  2. If soAgent is already installed, you'll be presented with options to:
  3. Update: Install a newer version while keeping your settings
  4. Uninstall: Remove soAgent completely

Installation Process

1. Server Configuration

  • Enter your organization's Securitaas server address
  • This will be provided by your IT administrator
  • Example: portal.securitaas.com

2. Installation Location

  • Choose where you want to install soAgent
  • Default location is recommended
  • Must be on a local drive (network drives not supported)

3. Credentials

  • Enter your Securitaas email address
  • Enter your Securitaas password
  • These are the credentials provided by your IT administrator

4. Certificate Details

All fields are mandatory and must follow these guidelines:

Domain - Your organization's domain name, should be in the format of your organization's Active Directory domain - Example: company.com - Must match your organization's Active Directory domain

Country Code - Two-letter country code where your organization is located - Must be UPPERCASE - Examples: US, UK, AU, IN

State/Province - Full name of your state or province - No abbreviations - Examples: Maharashtra, Gujarat, California, New South Wales, Ontario

Locality/City - Your city name - No abbreviations - Examples: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, San Francisco, Sydney, Toronto

Organization - Your company's legal name - Example: Acme Corporation

Organizational Unit - Your department or division - Example: IT Department

5. Windows Account Verification

  • The installer will detect your Windows account
  • Verify that the displayed username is correct
  • This account will be used for Windows server access
  • Format: username@domain.com

Important Notes

  1. Special Characters: Do not use < > / " ' in any certificate fields
  2. Account Names:
  3. If your Windows login is different from your domain account, contact your IT administrator
  4. The account must be a valid domain account

After Installation

  1. A success message will appear when installation is complete
  2. You may need to restart your computer
  3. The soAgent icon will appear in your system tray

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues: 1. Ensure you have administrator rights 2. Check your internet connection 3. Verify the server address with your IT administrator 4. Contact your IT support if problems persist

Uninstallation

  1. Run the installer again
  2. Select "Uninstall" when prompted
  3. Follow the uninstallation wizard
  4. Remove the Virtual Smart Card from Device Manager when prompted
